LITM - Wanting Now

I've watched the clock
Overseen a boiling pot
Waited for shooting stars
Chased fairies and sought four clover leaves
The clock ticked, the pot boiled
Stars shot by and many leaves withered
But it happens when it no longer means much
I've prayed in urgency
Sent my heart racing
Kept vigil for the morning
Sunk in waves of fear and desepair
Time raced by anyway and my heart skipped
Dawn came and I watched hope skid away
It happened and I survived more jaded than before
So, no more watching
No more chases
No more fruitless labour
No more waiting
No more sacrifices of pain
No more character development
I want Now and I'll take it.
