Lyrics by Group 1 Crew
from song "He Said"
|
In the words of Ted Dekker
"So... you have had some trouble
That also is good
Adversity Introduces a man to himself"
Still... You are not your adversity
There is adversity and there is you
And, You are also joy and peace
Adversity is external to you
Adversity does not own your response
But faith could own it...
Not religion's faith
But the belief that all things pass
Life continues to wrangle death
So don't be paralysed by adversity
It is only a mirror for your reflection
So you can live knowing who you are.
This lyric card is an acceptance: that there is no escaping adversity.
There will always be something or someone gunning for us and what is ours
but if we spend our time wrapped up in the despair of constantly
experiencing adversities, we will lose sight of the point of it all.
-
That it can only reveal who we are and where we are.
-
That through adversity, we continue to retain the essence of who we
are
No adversity can take the true fabric of our being from us unless we let
it consume us.
