I remember a Childhood Christmas
We had just moved into our new home and we barely recognized the neighbors
My mom called all the kids together after cooking all day and sent us out with meals for neighbours
The doors we knocked on were different in size and in colors
Some were opulent and obviously not in need of any meals but were in need of some love
Some were poor and in need of meals but obviously overflowing in joy and in love and family
Gifts filled our house
We had more than we needed and no place to store the rest.
The Parents gave out more than we kept, touching everyone we could; even our candy - to our horror!
There will be some at Christmas who have little to eat.
There will be some at Christmas with no jobs or families.
They will be waiting for Silver bells, to remind you to give them food and give them comfort.
The Silver Bells will be ringing
To remind you that leftovers are not for your freezers to be forgotten
Reminding you that the choice food you cook should not be your pet's year long snack
Silver Bells will remind you to share
To care for those with no families and hug away their loneliness
Reminding you to give out of your abundance to those who have little, to care for their families.
